Dan is a teacher at Tavistock Public School. Dan grew up in St.Marys Ontario.
Dan played Minor hockey at with St.Marys Minor Hockey. Dan played Junior B with
both St.Marys and Chatham. While playing for Chatham in 1999, Dan won the highly esteemed
Junior B trophy, the Sutherland Cup. Dan then played University hockey with the
University of Windsor for four years.
Dan started his coaching career in St.Marys at the Bantam level and then stepped it
up for 2 years to Assistant Coach of the St.Marys Lincolns. Now the Tavistock Braves
Hockey Club has had the privelage of having Dan as a coach for last season as well as
this season.
When it's not hockey season, you can find Coach Murrel golfing or taking a seat at
Rogers Place for a Blue Jays game.
Dan's coaching highlight was when he coached his team to an OMHA Championship with
Mike Johnson!

Mike also calls St.Marys his Hometown. Mike graduated from the University of Waterloo
in 2001 with a Bachelor of Environmental Studies.
Mike played minor hockey in St.Marys and eventually ended up on the Lincolns. He also
played University hockey for Waterloo for four years. Coach Johnson also racked up a
year in the Central Hockey League.
Away from the area Mike enjoys Golf and Football.
The highlight of Mike's coaching career was winning the OMHA championship with Head
Coach Dan Murrel!

Chad works for Pinnacle Transportation as a Supply Chain Manager.
Chad is a incummbent Coach having been a Tacistock Brave for three seasons. Chad's
hockey career started in the Tavistock Minor Hockey system.
Coach Blum has been coaching in Tavistock for a number of years now, spending three
years coaching the Tavistock Midgets and three more with the Braves and counting.
When he's not coaching, Chad can be found playing Hockey. In the off season, he regulars
ball diamonds for some baseball!
