- Jeff Zehr the left-winger played six games for the Tavistock Braves during the 1993-94
season and later went on to play four games for the Boston Bruins in the 1999-2000 season. Before Jeff could prove
his NHL worthyness, he suffered a knee injury during a Bruins practice, thereby ending his short lived NHL career.
Born in Woodstock, Ontario, Zehr excelled in the OHL with three different teams. Jeff was picked 31st overall by the
New York Islanders in 1997 draft. Zehr eventually signed with Boston as a free agent in 1999.
After Jeff's NHL experience, he managed to complete a decent ECHL career playing 199 games, with 58 goals and 92
assists for 150 points. He also took a few minutes in the penalty box with 827 ECHL PIM.
Overall, Jeff is a great example of what the Tavistock Braves hockey club is constantly striving to do; assist developing
players with building their skills to move on to bigger and better things!
